Knowledge‐based multiple hypothesis tracking and identification of manoeuvring reentry targets

This paper addresses the integrated tracking and identification problem of a manoeuvring reentry target that performs intentional lateral manoeuvres to disrupt ground radars. Unlike previous approaches, prior knowledge lift-induced drag is incorporated into new model describe dynamics more explicitly. can account for constraint between lift drag, which beneficial in ensuring reliability state estimation. Noticing an inherent characteristics distinguishes target's identity from others belonging same class, formulated within framework multiple hypothesis testing about set models constructed by different knowledge. The proposed approach enables authors derive optimal solution given mathematically rigorous manner. To cope with real-time implementation issue, merging strategy also devised view maintaining performance. Simulation results demonstrate scheme provides superior performance both compared existing method, despite imperfectness
